Instead of a 2-day event, the program was spread over 5 online Symposium events. Each of the 5 events presented research and practice, and illustrated outdoor healthcare in action.
All 5 events were designed to be of interest to cross-disciplinary practitioners, researchers and policy makers interested in using the known benefits of nature for health.
Through a series of invited guest speakers and Q&A sessions, we examined evidence-informed nature-based interventions, and discussed the merits of forming a coalition of Outdoor Healthcare providers.
This Symposium was the first of its kind to be hosted by AABAT. The original event was to take place in Tasmania, and timed to precede AABAT’s annual National Forum. This online Symposium replaced the original Symposium, but will lead to further events, including an in-person event on Wed 11th November ahead of AABAT’s postponed National Forum.
Symposium partners worked with AABAT to recruit representatives from the breadth of nature-based health interventions. We look forward to sharing exciting research and practice with you down the track, and warmly invite your contributions to future events.
