Using the research library

About the library

This dynamic bibliography is linked to a Zotero group library that is administered by a volunteer group of researchers and interested individuals from the international outdoor, adventure, and nature based therapies community. Occasionally you might find an article listed that has little relevance to the Outdoor Health sector. This is due to contributors often having large and intersecting fields of study and interest. While we have started to remove irrelevant materials, it is a work in progress. If you notice an item that is irrelevant, please email [email protected] to let us know.

Searching within the library

The library is searchable via the filter tab which can be expanded by clicking on it. Within the filter section you can limit the displayed references in several ways.

Title

Typically research papers will use key topic words within their title. Unless you know the exact title you will often get the best result by using just a few words in the title field.

Author

Using the last name of one or more authors is recommended as sometimes the data within the citation will only have the first name initial.

Date Range

This should be fairly self explanatory. Just put the year of publication in each date field, not month or day.

Tags

Tags include author and publisher included key words. They also include other topic based metadata, some of which are automatically generated when references are loaded into Zotero. We are experimenting with the use of tags to support searching under a range of categories. We have listed the basic tag categories here to give you an idea about what could be used. You will find that there are many more tags in available.
