Executive Officer
OHA is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Varcoe as our new Executive Officer. This part-time role will work with our Board and wider Leadership Team to lead OHA through its next stage of evolution in its mission to become the nationally recognised body representing the interests of evidence-informed outdoor and nature-based health practices.

Tony brings many years experience working in government roles, where he has led policy, programs and partnerships primarily in parks and conservation management including outdoor recreation, nature-based health, environmental education, volunteering and research partnerships.
Drawing on his experience, Tony highlights his belief in the impacts of outdoor health work.
“..Whether in the prevention or treatment of a wide range of health conditions, a strong body of evidence demonstrates that connection to, and participation in nature settings can provide significant physical, mental and social health benefits as well as provide a very high return on investment.”
